Blue Hills Culinary Arts Students to Serving Breakfast to Veterans Today
November 7, 2023 Taylor O’Neil
CANTON — Superintendent Jill Rossetti and Culinary Arts Department Lead Teacher Richard Spada announce that Blue Hills Regional Technical School Culinary Arts students will be serving breakfast to Milton veterans tomorrow.
WHEN:
Tuesday, Nov. 7 beginning at 8:45 a.m.
WHERE:
Pierce Middle School, 451 Central Ave, Milton
WHAT:
Blue Hills Culinary Arts sophomores and seniors will be serving breakfast to over 50 veterans at the Pierce Middle School in Milton tomorrow ahead of Veterans Day. The event was organized by Kevin Cook, Director of Veterans Services for Randolph and Milton.
At the breakfast, Blue Hills students will serve a continental breakfast to Milton veterans. The breakfast will include fresh fruit, homemade bagels, assorted pastries, and mini quiches prepared and served by students.
“Our students are looking forward to serving local veterans and thanking them for their service to our country,” Spada said. “We would like to thank Director Cook for organizing this event and Pierce Middle School Principal William Fish for allowing us to attend.”
This will be the first time that Blue Hills students serve food at this event.
According to Spada, breakfast is one of the most difficult parts of Blue Hills’ curriculum to properly address since the Chateau de Bleu Restaurant isn’t open during breakfast hours. However, breakfast events such as this allow students to get the breakfast experience needed to fulfill curriculum requirements.
Following the breakfast portion of the event, Milton veterans will speak to Pierce Middle School students and staff regarding their time in the military.
