Urgent – Nursing Workforce Grant Funds via HHS now open – $42M of resources — due Nov 4th

Good evening!

Please see the email below discussing a funding opportunity for those CTE Schools that offer adult LPN programs. The total funds from EOHHS for Nursing Pathway workforce challenges is $42.5 million dollars allocated.

The turnaround deadline for submission is quick: November 4, 2022

Executive Office of Health and Human Services

Colleagues,

I wanted to reach out based on our past dialogs and your support related to Nursing Pathway workforce challenges. While the Workforce Skills Cabinet continues to work with legislature on dedicated resources for Nursing Pathways this opportunity may provide you with some immediate options for support scaling of your existing nursing programs. As detailed below, funding can be used to expand programs that support the HCBS and human services workforce, such as RN, LPN, or Social Work programs. I wanted to highlight that the RFP is seeking proposals that expand existing educational capacity and, through partnerships with employers, create opportunities for students to enter the workforce post-graduation will be prioritized for funding. Information site Apply for Grant Funding to Support the Home- and Community-Based Services and Human Services Workforce | Mass.gov The Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) will award up to $42.5M in grants to support training, recruiting, and retaining initiatives that support provider home- and community-based services (HCBS) and human services workforce

I attached some Q&A information that is available on the HHS site. I have followed up with HHS as I had a number of additional questions (average grant size, spending length, consortium applicants, etc) and will provide an update. Please note the submission is via a grants management portal that requires pre-registration. This is one of several workforce provider grants that I understand are rolling out from HHS over the next six months, including the forthcoming Respite Innovation Grants and Provider Technology Grants. I will keep you in the loop as I learn more.

Please share the information with your healthcare education networks. As I learn more, I will share it with you.

If you would like to chat about the opportunity or if I can be of any help, please let me know.

Thanks

Bob LePage

PS – Just a reminder that Workforce Skills Capital grants are due in a few weeks and now include Nursing pathways as a priority occupation https://www.mass.gov/upgrading-technology-with-skills-capital-grants
