MAVA Colleagues,

We are excited to share some interesting information from our colleagues at Keefe Regional Technical School.

Four Trades Come Together Through WeBuild @ The Shed

Students from across Keefe Regional Technical School’s construction programs are working together through WeBuild @ The Shed, a new cross-trade learning experience that gives students a look at how different trades work together on a construction site.

The program brings together students in Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC in one shared space. More than 150 students across the four programs have the opportunity to work alongside other trades and see how each part of the construction process comes together.

<![if !vml]><![endif]>The Shed itself is currently being built, giving students the chance to be part of the process from the beginning. Students are gaining experience with print reading, estimating, project planning and construction as they work together to bring the space to life.

As the project moves forward, students are seeing how plans turn into an active construction project. They are also building skills in job-site safety, communication and teamwork while learning how to coordinate with other trades throughout the process.

The experience gives students the opportunity to apply what they are learning in their own programs while also learning more about the other trades involved. Working side by side helps students understand how each trade contributes to a project and what it takes to complete the work together.

Through WeBuild @ The Shed, students are gaining hands-on experience and a better understanding of the skills, teamwork and coordination they will use on future job sites.
