Amazing success by a graduate of Chapter 74 vocational technical education.

Colleagues,

We are pleased to share this terrific post by Superintendent Aaron Polansky. Amazing success by a graduate of Chapter 74 vocational technical education.

David

Meet Madison (Maddie) Reed, PhD (Class of 2017, CADD) from Lakeville. Maddie recently defended her doctoral thesis in chemical engineering at WPI where she had the amazing opportunity to pursue innovative research in plastics and create two patented technologies. Dr. Reed also works part-time in an engineering appointment at the US Army Soldier Systems Center in Natick, Massachusetts (home to the famous Casey’s Diner, 36 South Avenue, Natick, MA 01760). Maddie’s next steps will be a career in industrial R&D.

When asked about the impact of Old Colony, Madison credits her teachers in the CADD program who encourage her to think creatively and work through difficult problems. Maddie was an active part of the Old Colony Community during her time in high school during which time she participated in lacrosse, soccer, basketball, Old Colony National Honor Society, OC Skills USA, and served as a member of the Old Colony Student Advisory Committee.

We extend our sincere congratulations to Maddie for her continued success and look forward to seeing where her journey will take her next.
