Feb 6 2025

LEXINGTON, MA – Minuteman High School is proud to announce that senior Sunay Agarwal has been named a nominee for the prestigious U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, one of the highest honors bestowed upon graduating high school seniors nationwide.

Sunay, an exceptional student in Minuteman’s Engineering pathway and dual enrollment program, has consistently demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a passion for innovation. His achievements include being named a National Merit Semifinalist and an AP Scholar with Distinction, as well as earning top scores in national math competitions such as the American Invitational Mathematics Exam and the Harvard-MIT Math Tournament.

Beyond the classroom, Sunay is an active leader in several extracurricular organizations. He plays a pivotal role in the FIRST Robotics Club, Math Team, and SkillsUSA, where he has earned state recognition for his work in Engineering Technology. His self-motivation extends to independently studying multiple Advanced Placement courses to challenge himself academically.

Sunay’s dedication to STEM education and problem-solving has shaped his future aspirations. He will be attending Cornell University in the fall to pursue electrical engineering, having been accepted through Early Decision.

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement. Candidates are selected based on academic performance, standardized test scores, and contributions to their schools and communities. Only a select number of students nationwide progress to the finalist stage.

The Minuteman Community is immensely proud of Sunay’s accomplishments and his nomination for this distinguished recognition. Please help us congratulate him on all his achievements and we look forward to seeing his future successes.
