Named a 2023-24 PLTW Distinguished School – July 15, 2024

It’s not luck; it’s hard work. Year after year, the collective effort of our students and staff has resulted in national recognition from the nonprofit organization Project Lead the Way (PLTW). We are proud to be named a 2023-24 PLTW Distinguished School for the seventh consecutive year, a testament to our shared commitment and dedication.

“Being recognized for our ongoing commitment to empowering student access, engagement, and achievement in our PLTW programs is an impressive accomplishment,” said Superintendent-Director Dr. Michael F. Fitzpatrick. “I am particularly proud of our students and staff who always aspire to perform in all aspects of the curriculum. This credential is a testament to the quality of cross-curricular instruction and those willing to do the work.”

To be eligible for this designation, the school had to meet the following criteria: offer at least three PLTW courses; of those who participated in PLTW, at least 33% took two or more PLTW courses during their high school tenure; and at least 95% of students completed the PLTW End-of-Course assessments; have strategies and procedures in place to support reasonably proportional representation regarding race, ethnicity, poverty, and gender.

It is an honor to be part of the PLTW community, which is united around a passion for providing students with inspiring, engaging, and empowering learning opportunities through its course offerings. We currently offer ten PLTW courses: five from the Engineering Pathway, three from the Computer Science Pathway, and two from the Biomedical Science Pathway.
