Support for Margaret’s OARS!

MAVA Colleagues,

We send this message on behalf of a team of educators from South Shore Vocational Technical HS who are raising money to run the Falmouth Road Race in August.

Margaret’s OARS will run 7 miles in honor of their former Principal, Margaret Dutch, who was recently diagnosed with ALS. Margarets Oars will run with Compassionate Care -ALS. The Compassionate Care-ALS organization provides resources including equipment, educational workshops, guidance and awareness to families and patients of ALS.

As you are aware, for over thirty years, both Margaret and Bob Dutch have been influential members of MAVA tirelessly advocating for vocational technical & agricultural education. They have served as mentors for our teachers as well administrators across the Commonwealth. Each of us have felt the effect of their professional excellence, serving in leadership positions both in MAVA and in individual regional school districts.

All proceeds will go to Compassionate Care -ALS which offers an innovative and holistic range of services tailored to meet the needs of individuals with ALS and their families. The services they offer are typically not covered by insurance. CCALS works with families in New England, across the United States, and internationally. The organization provides resources including equipment, educational workshops, Medicare/Medicaid assistance, guidance, and awareness in living with ALS, caregiving, and end-of-life issues.

We hope you might consider a donation to honor all Margaret has done for so many of us and to assist the efforts of an important organization “Compassionate Care -ALS”.

We appreciate your consideration.
