A Chapter 74 Computer Science Instructor to Receive Statewide Recognition

We are pleased to share some incredible news from Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical in Rochester.

Sean Riley, Old Colony Advanced Placement Computer Science Instructor, will be recognized at the 2024 Partners in Excellence Awards Ceremony on April 2 at Bentley University in Waltham.

This is an annual celebration honoring educators who made a significant impact in increasing academic opportunities for underserved students as measured by their students’ success. The 15 winners were selected from over 600 Massachusetts AP teachers participating in Mass Insight’s AP STEM & English program.

Mr. Riley along with 14 other AP teachers will be recognized at the Partners in Excellence (PIE) celebration. Mass Insight’s AP STEM & English program is a public/private partnership advancing equity in AP education.

Aaron L. Polansky, Superintendent-Director at Old Colony stated: “Mr. Riley is a soft-spoken gem with a humble presence. His caring approach and deep investment in our students has helped take our Old Colony Computer Science Program to the next level. We are grateful for his commitment to our students and school community, and so extremely proud of his being selected for this much-deserved recognition.”
