We are 139 days away from the 2024 Connecting for Success Conference! Our theme this year is CTE is FUTURE READY!

We are still seeking proposals for professional development sessions, so the deadline for submissions has been extended to Friday March 1, 2024. Details, guidelines, and submission instructions are detailed below.

SESSION FORMAT

All sessions must be 50-minutes in length. Examples include:

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>30-minute presentation with 20-minute interactive activities

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>40-minute session with 10 minutes for discussions, questions, & answers

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>40-minute carousel activity with 10 minutes for discussions, questions, & answers

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>50-minute professional learning community/job alike discussion

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>Double session (allotted 110 minutes)

AVAILABILITY

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>I will present multiple sessions on Wednesday (6/26)

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>I will present multiple sessions on Thursday (6/27)

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>I will present multiple sessions on both Wednesday (6/26) & Thursday (6/27)

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>I can only present one session on Wednesday (6/26)

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>I can only present one session on Thursday (6/27)

SPEAKER REQUIREMENTS

As a conference speaker, you will be expected to:

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>Use materials and language that do not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, sex, gender identity, religion, national origin, physical and intellectual differences/ability, or sexual orientation

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>Provide your own presentation materials, handouts, and resources for distribution to participants

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>Provide your specific presentation availability

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>Detail the classroom space needed for your presentation

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>Understand there is no stipend associated with your presentation. A certificate of presentation hours will be awarded to you after the conference has closed.

COMPENSATION

Presenters will receive a certificate detailing presentation hours. The certificate can be turned into schools for professional development points (MAVA does not issue professional development points).

The Connecting for Success annual conference provides educators who currently work or aspire to work in a Massachusetts high school with opportunities to improve their practice and student outcomes through coherent and purposeful professional development. The Connecting for Success conference strives to provide purposeful professional learning that promotes the educator’s knowledge, skills, and practices through deeper levels of learning.
