Colleagues,
We are always excited to share interesting ideas and activities that have proven successful in one or more of our MAVA schools. Today we are pleased to share an idea from our colleagues at Bristol-Plymouth Regional Tech in Taunton. Last month first-year students participated in the 16th Annual Career Showcase to learn more about prospective career pathways.
You will find more information below, or for questions reach out to Guidance & Career Center Coordinator Naomi Hall. (nhall).

Bristol-Plymouth Regional Tech Students Learn About Future Pathways at Annual Career Showcase
Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School first-year students participated in the 16th Annual Career Showcase to learn more about prospective career pathways.
Superintendent Alex Magalhaes shares that Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School first-year students participated in the 16th Annual Career Showcase to learn more about prospective career pathways.
On Friday, Dec. 8, students gathered in the Lecture Hall and received career “passports” to record their visits to technical areas.
Students then proceeded to the gymnasium to learn about the school’s programs in five career clusters: Health Sciences (Biotechnology, Dental Assisting, Community Health); Construction: (Carpentry, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical); Hospitality and Services (Cosmetology, Culinary, Early Childhood); Computer-Based: (Business and Applied Technologies, Computer and Networking Technologies, Graphic Design, Design and Visual Communications, Engineering); and Automotive and Fabrication: (Automotive, Collision, CAD/CAM, Metal Fabrication).
The Career Showcase was organized by school faculty and staff under the leadership of Guidance & Career Center Coordinator Naomi Hall.
“The Showcase serves as a great opportunity for our students to begin exploring career paths,” Superintendent Magalhaes said. “Our sophomores also learn valuable interpersonal skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.” Sophomores representing each pathway provided overviews of the program and shared their personal experiences. Sophomores were judged on their presentations.
