At the MASC/MASS Joint Conference on Wednesday, November 8th, Cape Cod Tech’s Jill Mullen, administrative assistant to the school committee and Superintendent for Cape Cod Tech, was recognized as the Assistant of the Year. Jill is pictured with Superintendent Robert Sanborn.

Jill has worked for the past 16 years with the Superintendent and School Committee of the Cape Cod Regional Technical School in Harwich, MA. This is no easy task as the district is comprised of 12 towns represented by 24 School Committee members.

Jill brings to the position an outstanding professionalism in the quality of work that she produces every day to support both the daily operations of the superintendent’s office and the significant activities of the school committee. She is a true collaborator with all of her colleagues and staff in the school, who appreciate her commitment to this collaboration and support of them. She can always be counted on to produce on-time quality work with meticulous organizational skills and attention to even the smallest details. And she does this with a smile and truly positive attitude!

Jill is responsible for the extensive planning, minute taking, and documentation required for the significant meetings that take place on weekly and monthly schedules. There are 26 meetings planned annually involving just the School Committee and the General Advisory Committee (a committee of local tradesmen in the member towns), plus additional sub-committees of the school committee and student organizations. In addition, she coordinates the annual district reports submitted to the 12 member towns along with documentation materials used in their annual Town Meeting presentations. This is no easy task as each town has specific formatting requests for these.

In submitting Jill’s nomination, Superintendent Sanborn, School Committee Chair Anthony Tullio, and Vice-Chair Robert Furtado stated: “Jill maintains truly positive relationships while fostering a professional and respectful climate in our school community. We cannot imagine a more deserving role model than Jill Mullen for the COSCAP Administrative Assistant Award this year.”
