Summer Enrichment Program Empowers Future Leaders Through the Core Values of R.E.A.C.H.

TYNGSBOROUGH — Greater Lowell Technical High School proudly announces the successful conclusion of its annual Summer Enrichment Program.
This transformative educational initiative brought together more than a quarter of the incoming Class of 2027 and dozens of upperclassmen student leaders. This year, the program’s theme, “Express Yourself,” focused on letting students stay true to themselves while meeting fellow freshmen, upperclassmen, and academic and technical staff members. While “expressing themselves,” participants delved into the school’s core values of R.E.A.C.H. (Respect, Effort, Accountability, Commitment, and Honesty), fostering personal growth and cultivating essential leadership skills.
The Summer Enrichment Program, held from July 10-28, aimed to equip students with the tools necessary to excel academically and personally, preparing them for a successful transition to Greater Lowell Technical High School.
On the first day of the program, incoming freshman Laura Bautista of Lowell was nervous because her friends from middle school were in a different group. At the end of the program, Bautista stated, “I’m so happy and thankful I did this; the first day when I came in, I just wanted to be with her, but I made new friends, and that was the greatest thing.”
Throughout the program, the incoming freshmen had the invaluable opportunity to connect with their upperclassmen student leaders, who served as mentors and role models. These exceptional leaders demonstrated and embodied the R.E.A.C.H. values, inspiring their younger peers to strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives.
Students also visited Lala Books in Lowell to select a book for their Summer Reading assignment, bowled at Bowlero in Lowell, and on their last day participated in a field day, awards ceremony, and barbecue catered by Bianco’s Catering of Chelmsford.
Summer Program Coordinator Stacey O’Keefe, Student Leader Coordinator Kaitlin Monahan, Summer School Food Service Coordinator Ricardo Colunga Hernandez, and more than 25 faculty and staff supported the program.
