SOUTH EASTON — A group of Southeastern students have recently demonstrated their knowledge and ability to perform real-world tasks in technology.
Fifteen students in the newly created Networking & Cybersecurity vocational program have received their TestOut IT Fundamentals Pro Certification. The certification is received after passing an exam, which measures the examinee’s understanding of foundational concepts and practical application abilities related to computer hardware and software, networking, databases, programming, information systems and data security. TestOut Pro certification exams are recognized as Industry Recognized Credentials (IRC’s).
All 15 students who took the exam passed and received certification. The students include juniors Jaylen Lopes, Daniel Wentzell, Nathan Montrond, Ethan Amado Cardoso, Michael Duprevil, Miguel Guerrero, Samuel Emmanuel, Cameron Raymond, Maximilian Mansfield, Issa Lacombe, Denva Whyte, Malik Lamour, Xa’Nah Greene, Tiago Oliveira, and Brandon Colombo.
Oliveira, Lacombe, and Cardoso achieved a second certification, also passing the TestOut Networking Pro exam. The exam measured students’ abilities to complete tasks related to networking hardware, device configuration, management, security, and troubleshooting.
“This is a significant achievement for these 15 students, and I am so proud of them and the time and effort they put into preparing for the exams,” said instructor Chris Comeau. “As juniors, they have already received a valuable industry certification that will make them appealing to prospective employers. Their success is an indication of the great accomplishments we look forward to seeing from students in our new Networking & Cybersecurity program.”
Southeastern’s Networking & Cybersecurity vocational program builds students’ knowledge of personal computer systems and networks and hones their technical skills.
