CANTON — To mark their entrance into the healthcare profession, Blue Hills Health Assisting seniors took part in a Pinning Ceremony on Thursday during National Nurses Week.

On Thursday, May 11, Blue Hills Regional Technical School’s Health Assisting Class of 2023 received their certified nursing assistant (CNA) pins during a ceremony, as well as their home health aide and CPR certifications.

“On behalf of the district, I would like to congratulate and commend our Health Assisting Class of 2023 on the accomplishment of receiving their CNA pins,” Superintendent Rossetti said. “These students have never wavered in their commitment to the healthcare profession, even during some of the most trying of times these past few years. Their steadfast commitment to serving others has shown throughout their time at Blue Hills, and I look forward to the bright futures ahead of them.”

The Pinning Ceremony is a tradition to welcome new graduates into the healthcare professions, as it symbolizes the dedication of the graduates’ service to the ill and injured.

During this year’s ceremony, the Pledge of Allegiance was read by senior Makayla Desousa, the C.N.A welcome was given by Blue Hills instructor Peggy Stewart, readings were given by seniors Ciara Gabriel and Gianna Pina and Lessons from a CNA was presented by Brooke Ferbert.

Pins and certificates were presented to students by instructors David Tapper, Kathy Dowd, Brenda Neret and Peggy Stewart. Stewart provided the ceremony’s closing remarks.
