Education Secretary Cardona Prioritizes CTE in Major Policy Speech

On Jan. 24, Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona announced a new Department of Education initiative called “Raise the Bar: Lead the World” in a “major address” at the department’s headquarters. Each year, Advance CTE and ACTE track and analyze state CTE policy for our joint Year in Review: State Policies Impacting CTE report. Last year, 36 states enacted 123 policy actions that will impact millions of CTE learners in secondary and postsecondary systems. CTE Innovations at NPS

Join CTE professionals at ACTE’s National Policy Seminar (NPS) to advocate for CTE, engage on federal education policy priorities and participate in the CTE Innovation Summit, included with your NPS registration or available as a stand-alone event. Happening on the final day of the event, the daylong Summit features hot topics, such as the use of augmented and virtual reality and artificial intelligence in the classroom. Further, attendees will learn more about how government officials plan to support the careers of the future. This year’s NPS happens in Arlington, Virginia, March 19–22.
