MassCTE President Welcome

Fellow Members and Colleagues,

I am excited to have this opportunity to serve you as the new president of “Your Teachers Organization”. As we kick-off this new year, I am proud to announce our new name — MassCTE! This name change embodies our continued support and commitment to YOU, our educators, trade experts and industry professionals. This year marks our 92nd year commitment to CTE. During this time, CTE has become more engaging, exciting and innovative thanks to all our dedicated instructors. We look forward to providing opportunities for our fellow teachers to professionally network and strengthen partnerships across the state with the goal to build upon best practices within our chapter 74 programs.

Through collaboration, together, we can build high-quality and innovative teaching practices and become valued resources for our newly transitioned trade professionals. MassCTE prides itself in providing relevant professional development, access to committees initiated by DESE, volunteer opportunities within MassCTE, scholarships, updated state and national news in CTE with help and great support of MAVA, and being the Massachusetts affiliate organization to our National ACTE. We are proud to partner with ACTE, our national voice for Career and Technical Education and continue to support our student organizations, such as SkillsUSA, BPA, DECA, FFA to name a few. Together, WE can empower change of the perception of technical education through innovation, rigorous curriculum, project based learning, industry recognized certifications and establishing high-quality college and career pathways.

I look forward to meeting you at our MassCTE Annual Conference this March, and at our other partnership events – Most Outstanding Student Awards Dinner, MAVA Connecting for Success Conference, and at the National ACTE Conference.

Kyla Korytoski
President, MassCTE
