Eligible students are Massachusetts high school seniors who 1) will graduate between January and August 2023, 2) are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents or will be by the application deadline date, and 3) are attending a Massachusetts public or private high school.
Each school may nominate up to two students of different genders. Students may be nominated in the general category or in the career and technical education category. More information is available at the link above and on DESE’s Presidential Scholars’ web page. Please submit all nominations via this survey form by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30.
About the Program
The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors. In 2015, the program was again extended to recognize students who demonstrate ability and accomplishment in career and technical education fields. Each year, up to 161 students are named as Presidential Scholars, one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students.
If you have any questions, or problems with the survey, please email the Office of Student and Family Support via [email protected].
